Hiked up a very tough mountain Today, that is not called a mountain. It is called Kelly Knob. It is called a knob, but it is 4,171 feet high. It felt like a mountain to us. The good thing is we got phone service on the knob, so I was able to call my mother for mothers day from the top of a mountain.
We continued to hike to a place called Addis Gap. There we decided to camp for the night.
It was Mothers day and I thought Tipawa could use the rest. We hiked 1.8 miles for the day.
We talked about what was coming soon. We needed to stay somewhere in the next few days. We were again almost out of food and now with no money to buy any.
After dicussing our options I decided to see if my Dad would drive to GA to pick us up tomorrow and drive us home. There we could get food, showers, laundry, and rest without spending money. I called him and he said he would be there. We just had to walk back the 5.4 miles we had just walked the last two days.
So that was the plan when we went to bed…

John,
Have been reading all of your posts and living vicariously through your adventure. Did your dad indeed come pick you up? We are having the graduation ceremony for Operation Song this Friday, May 22 in Murfreesboro at 9:39; would love to see you if you are around. Tina
