For years a preacher would hike up a mountain and hold an Easter morning service. He did it for so many years that the name of the mountain was changed to Preaching Rock. In recent years he passed away and no one has taken his place.
Got a late start today. Didn’t hit the trail till almost 15:00. We are all still trying to get in the routine of break down, eat, hike, eat, set up, sleep, repeat…
Today was a breaking and/or a turning point for everyone. Tensions were high and we were all stressed. But God was preparing us for our destination, Preaching Rock…
Our hike up there was tough. We were all tired. But just passed the Rock we took a break and I, in my frustration over many things, began to rant on the mountain. Ranting turned into praying. Praying turned into praising. Praising turned into Preaching. Without trying or preparing I preached on Preaching Rock and challenged everyone with our guiding verse, Joshua 24:15 “Choose ye this day whom ye shall serve . . . as for me and my house We will Serve the Lord.” This pic Shows the results of God working in our lives:
We made it through that test and everyone now stonger in their commitment to continue walked on to Lance Creek.
All in all we walked 3.5 miles and had a miraculous day. God is Great!
