April 29, 2015 Day 023

Woke up today and decided to let everyone sleep in.

Everyone got up by eleven. We were all trail weary and the weather was forecasting a thunderstorm. However, because I could not update my phone the forecast was two days old. I had to go with what I had. Some of the trees around the campsite we found the night before did not look safe enough to sleep under during a thunderstorm. So we had to go somewhere.

We talked for three hours trying to decide what to do. The next shelter was 4.8 miles away and it looked like it would rain any minute. I could not decide what to do. So I suggested we go to the road to talk more about what we were going to do.

We walked to the road, but the official Hogpen Gap was across the road. I wanted to go to the Gap so we had to cross the street. We walked towards the road. Just as I stepped out onto the road the man who shuttles people from Suches, GA (Where the Wolf Pen Gap Country store is) drove by and and waved at us. He then stopped at the Gap to pick up another hiker. I could not believe it. God revealed what He wanted us to do… If you wait long enough, God will show you what to do…

So we packed into the back of the man’s pick up truck and headed back to the Wolf Pen Gap Country Store. This was how we fit… It was his biggest load ever…
